Two-day Adobe Captivate workshop

Purpose: 

Learn to create engaging interactive media tailored to your own teaching needs. Using builtin themes and graphics, you’ll follow step-by-step instructions to create a fun tablet- or webbased interactive presentation on the water cycle. This process can be easily adapted for different content and learning outcomes.

Suitable for: 

- No prior knowledge of Adobe Captivate is required

- Participants require to join the workshop with a laptop and Adobe Captivate 9 or 10 installed and have Windows operating system 7 or higher installed.

- It is possible to have Apple IOS installed on a Mac, however the participant will need to be very proficient with any of the settings (e.g. sound change, video adaptions, locations on the hard disk drive.

Over the course of this workshop, you’ll:

• Review the main features and functions of Adobe Captivate.

• Follow simple steps to design and build a responsive-layout project (i.e., one that resizes automatically for mobile devices).

• Explore other sample projects in Adobe Captivate.

• Connect with a community of Adobe Captivate users to share tips and best practices.

• Create and share your own project made with Adobe Captivate. (Optional)

Day 1

Step 1: Install Adobe Captivate Download and install Adobe Captivate on your machine.

Step 2: Create Your First Project Launch Adobe Captivate.

  • A Welcome Screen lets you choose from six different project options: Responsive Project, Software Simulation, Video Demo, From PowerPoint, From Project Template, and Blank Project.
  • We will look at each of the project options and spend a bit more time on the one that suits you best.

 

Day 2

Step 3: Complete your own designed project Each participant can work alone or work with a peer to create a specific design.

Step 4: Evaluate and recap the main points Each participant presents what he/she has created.

  • We have another look at what we have learned.
