Why now?
- With the current COVID-19 restrictions, this might be a good time to invest in your skills
- In the present world, people are more and more “time poor” – but it may be that (in the coming weeks / months) with more staff working from home (less travel time, less meetings etc) they may become “time rich” and have time to invest in their own development
- Online learning can be delivered now. And when the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted (and people return to normal routines) then shorter classroom workshops can be provided to embed the learning effectively.

How does on-line training work?
All you need is a PC, Smartphone, Tablet or any device with access to the Internet. Courses can be short (such as a short 30-minute webinar) or longer (such as multiple topics where the learning happens via “little & often” online sessions).
Learning can be via access to generic content, or via access to content specific to your job role / type of organisation.

Why blended-learning?
Blended learning combines multiple learning modes to deliver an exceptional learning experience. Learning can occur through a variety of sources such as
- Classroom events – perhaps shorter sessions than traditional classroom learning because much of the basic learning can be achieved online – and where the classroom sessions can be set up as workshops to help embed the learning in a practical way
- Online learning – where a combination of shorter online learning sessions can be interspersed with classroom events. These can be accessed via any device with access to the web. Learners can engage with the presenter in ways such as “raise your hand” or can type in messages to the presenter / invigilator. Normal Q&A sessions can be handled towards the end of each session.
- Practical assignments – where the learning has to be applied in a practical way (ideally in your own work environment) where an assignment is delivered. An example might be an improvement project back in the business that yields quantifiable value to the business such as cost savings, quality improvements, enhanced customer service.
- Examinations / Tests – these can be configured and delivered online to ensure the learner has a good understanding of the relevant topics

This can be achieved in a number of ways including
1) Analysis of learners’ experience such as:
- Time taken to complete the learning
- Results from online tests where appropriate
- Immediate feedback from the learner (e.g. Coursecheck) on how they valued / enjoyed the learning
2) Business Impact – how the learning was applied in practice and what benefits were accrued for the business
